The Council has its own Cemetery on the Bath Road - Telephone (01225) 742476. (See our CEMETERY section for more information).

The Council also administers Box Common and the recreation ground which is cared for by our groundsman Mark Delahunty.    John Vinyard is our part time maintenance man.

In order to keep our streets clean, the Council employs a part-time cleaner (this post is currently being filled  - (June 2010)

responsible for the upkeep of the Cemetery including the Lodge, Chapel and War Memorial and also for all labour employed in connection with the maintenance of the Cemetery.  In the summer months there is a pre-meeting walk round and meetings are held in the Chapel (Mondays)  2nd August, 4th Oct, 29th Nov, 7th Feb, 4th April
responsible for the Recreation Field, including play equipment, the bowls pavilion, tennis courts and all other facilities.  It is also responsible for the groundsman.  In the summer months the committee meets on the Recreation Ground for a walkround prior to the meeting.  (Mondays) 6th Sept, 1st Nov, 6th Jan, 7th March, 5th May
the main committee of the Council which considers all matters of policy making, legal matters, all matters not covered by other committees and finance, for consideration by the Full Council.  This committee comprises the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Council and the Chairmen of all the other committees plus two other volunteer councillors. (Mondays) 9th August, 13th Sept, 11th Oct, 8th Nov, 6th Dec
10th January, 14th February, 14th March, 11th April, 9th May
responsible for making comments and recommendations to Wiltshire (Unitary) Council Planning Authority on behalf of the Parish Council on all Planning applications within the parish.  The District Council makes the decisions on all applications.  This committee also considers any matters relating to conservation and the environment in general  (Thursdays) at 7.30pm

responsible for making comments and recommendations to the District Council Planning Authority on behalf of the Parish Council on all Planning applications within the parish.  The District Council makes the decisions on all applications.  This committee also considers any matters relating to conservation and the environment in general  (Thursdays) at 6.45pm  (meets to discuss recently received applications only) 26th Aug, 30th Sept, 28th Oct, 25th Nov, 16th Dec
24th January, 24th February, 31sr March, 28th April, 28th May
responsible for bringing to the attention of the Wiltshire Unitary Council Area Highways Engineer any defects or repairs needed to roads, pavements etc.  Also to consider ways in which improvements could be made to the safety of the highways  (Mondays)  20th Sept, 15th Nov, 17th Jan, 21st March, 16th May
responsible for the management of the eleven acres of land which were purchased for the use of the whole parish.  The committee includes a number of non-councillors who reside near the common and are interested in assisting in its management. & responsible for over 100 footpaths, bridleways and rights of way in the parish, striving to keep them clear and viable.  Also responsible for notifying WCC of defective stiles, signs or infringements by users or landowners.  A Cotswold Warden also sits on the committee. please note that the R.O.W. meeting follows immediately after the 'BOX HILL' meeting) (Mondays)

responsible for the management and maintenance of the pavilion.  To oversee the lettings and to monitor the budget and set the charges for letting accordingly.  The Committee is comprised of members of the Parish Council together with representatives from the user groups. (Mondays)  23rd Aug, 25th Oct, 20th Dec, 28th Feb, 21st April
